New Car Poll!
#26
Yup, my mother has had 3 cross country's in a row (1998,2002,2007) and had major problems with the
first two. The 2002 was a lease, she bought it at the end of the lease (w/ warranty). Engine kept having major problems, after replacing 5k in parts (over 3k in labor) the dealership decided to cut their losses and buy the car back from her (instead of keep paying for things to be replaced, none of which solved problem). This all happened 5 months ago, she only went with another one (leased) because the dealership she has gone to for 15 years (had other volvos prior to XC70's) was willing to give her tons of money off MSRP to make up for all the problems she had experienced. In her last year of ownership she drove a rental toyota corolla a total of 9 weeks.
previous to engine problems, the 2002 had tip tranny fail completely, and countless other problems.
Maybe they finally figured out some of the problems for the old one for the 2007 MY (last of this generation). Buying/leasing a first year new generation one (like you have listed) sounds like a horrible idea. They will have tons of problems that they won't figure out until year or two into production.
