New Keyless Remote?
Hello all,
I am wondering if I can really buy one of these keyless remotes for my 1998 A6Q on Ebay and have it cut and programmed for my car like they say?

Seems like a good deal, especially since the PO has told me that he was quoted over $200 for a spare remote/key.
I only have one, but would like to have a spare!

u can program it urself. theres a faq here on it. if u r replacing a remote, then u can use the existing key on ur old remote and pop it into the new one.

Yes you can. Dealer charges about $60 to cut a new key, and then you can program it yourself.....

Can you tell me who you dealt with? I'd appreciate it if you can let me know.
I also got one from ebay a while back and called up Rockville audi for re-key.
None of the people at the parts seem knowledgeable enough to know if they do re-key.
Took a half hour for a guy to look through part numbers to find out how much a new remote key costs.
