Still need to install the spark plug seals and remove the paint from the CCV fittings, but this is essentially the finished product. Have I made believers out of anyone?

I like polished aluminum.....but the dang stuff won't stay polished unless you seal it with imron ør clear epoxy øf some kind.

It's certainly something I'd tackle while doing other maintenance, as the valve covers are kind of a nuisance to get off. Gotta drain the coolant bottle, disconnect the fuel lines, and remove LOTS of bolts holding the coils on.
It should be noted that I also sandblasted these - if I tried to paint them as they came off the car, paint probably wouldn't have stuck to them, and I wouldn't have gotten even as uniform a finish as I did.
Oh, and I used Krylon non-gloss barbecue grill and stove paint. Fast drying, good looking finish (matches the coils now, so all you see of the coils are the yellow "C" in the middle), and will supposedly be durable and put up to a lot of abuse. Time will tell.

I thought they were magnesium. They say mg on them and they were super oxidized and stained. When I washed one with water after sandblasting it, it oxidized very quickly. Haven't done a hardness or specific gravity test but all signs point to them being magnesium. Are you sure?
