Default Newb question (front headlights)

My friend has 02 A6 3.0Q. At night when he turns his headlights and fog lights, the orange turn signals go on to. Is any way to disable orange turn signals using VAG-COM? Thank You.

I don't believe so. Those 'turn signals' are the marker lights...unless your turn signals are flashing, there's nothing wrong.
Turning them off would violate US DOT marker light standards and expose to hazard of being hit from the side at night because of not being seen...this is why there are side marker lights.

Further, if a headlight goes out, this marker light shows oncoming traffic where the side of your car is.

Why would you want to turn them off?

no, you cant turn it off with vag.

I'm assuming you want to do what I did to mine. Normally when the headlights are ON, the turn signal bulb is like half lit, you want it off completely.
That bulb is like 2 bulbs in 1, you need to take the headlights out, (takes 3 minutes if you know how) and the 'socket' for the bulb has 3 contacts, 1 of them slides out and you can tuck it into the headlight and put the bulb back in.

double check to make sure you took out the right contact, you still want your turn signals to work.

Car looks 1000000x better without those lights on at night. =)

I'd take that bet. Most people don't eff with lights...heck, most people don't even know their lights are off, on, or one of them is burnt out.

Vag com should do it. Ask someone in the regional section.
