design will probably debut at Geneva Auto Show in early '04 (that's what we last heard)
guessing the earliest it would arrive in production form would be as an '05 model. most of the talk within the industry confirms this...

Nobody (including myself) knows for sure but here is what I am leaning towards:
1. DOHC 24V 3.2L FSI V6: 250 hp and 243 lbs/ft of torque.
2. DOHC 32V 4.2L FSI V8: 330 hp and 325 lbs/ft of torque.
3. DOHC 40V 5L FSI V10: 430 hp and 385 lbs/ft of torque.
4. Twin turbo DOHC 40V 5L FSI V10 (RS6): 550 hp and 500 lbs/ft of torque.
One of the fuel companies in North America (I believe Amoco or whomever is beyond petroleum (BP) already has low sulfur petroleum and diesel fuels needed for engines with fuel stratified injection (FSI). FSI is more commonly known as direct fuel injection.

October of 2004 for 2005 for the sedan
April of 2005 for the avant. With no new S6 or avant, the new RS6 sedan should come out in either October of 2005 for 2006 of April of 2006 for 2007. Whenever the new RS6 sedan comes out, the new RS6 avant will come out six months after the new RS6 sedan. Martin Winterkorn, president of Audi AG in Germany, confirmed at the 2003 Geneva Auto Show in Geneva, Switzerland that there will be no more S models from Audi after the B6 S4 or D3 S8. Martin Winterkorn also confirmed that Audi's RS models will be fully phased in as their only high performance line. AutoBild indicated all of the above regarding Martin Winterkorn and the S and RS models. Therefore, no new S6 sedan or avant.

Hopefully, the "actual" new A6 will look much better than all PS pics, good and bad.
I guess we will just have to wait about five or so months to know for sure. New A6 will make it's debut at the 2004 Geveva Auto Show in Geneva, Switzerland in early March 2004.
