NHTSA looking in to Xenon lights...
Apparently they have gotten a lot of complaints about the brightness. Suggestion to the complainers: Don't look into the light! After Xenons, no way I am going back to halogens.

Re: NHTSA looking in to Xenon lights...
If you are getting complaints about the brightness then you might have the lights mis-aligned. I would go back to the dealer and get them checked out. I am sure this is the problem because I have looked at my sisters car as she comes in the driveway and her lights are not that bright. But you can really see them on the pavement. Hope this helps you out.

The replacement headlight for my TT has a different tint and brightness.
The reason for this is that the Xenons are manufactured by different companies. But please don't ask me, which company manufactures the brightest Xenons. I don't know.
I agree, after Xenons there is no way to go back to Halogens

what color do they throw on the wall?
That's the important thing. The tint and brightness change with your angle to them. Since it isn't take from between the headlights, they look different.
If they throw the same color light, then they are the same.

Funny that they don't investigate...
a**holes that drive SUVs like sportscars, mis-aligned headlights, cellphone drivers, etc. But as soon as the device in question is dominated by the European and Japanese carmakers, they're all over it. The government can, again, go screw itself.
