NO BRAKES! =) Blew out driver's side brake hose today. That was not fun!

Interesting take on SS hoses. I had them on my 73 El Camino and 84 and 87 saab 900 turbos. Never had an abrasion problem except for when the SS braid touched anything...the braid could abrade! (Pun intended). Have to use rubber-lined brackets/holders to place the braid. The Saab was in the mud and the blood and the beer year-round including PA snow and salted interstate/rural/dirt roads....no problem with abrasion in 150K miles and 10-12 years after installation.
Besides; aren't braided SS lines sleeved with a plastic/nylon cover now available? Agency Power is one source but their online doesn't show C5 brake lines. Since they show some audi/porsche/nissan stuff perhaps it's not a stretch to have them fabricate C5 brake lines.

my A6 is a no bling zone. OEM style rubber hoses only! I do routinely check the hoses, but alas, it's been a while since I've touched the brakes apparently, and these hoses could very well be orignial, ie: 11+ years old, and nearly 200k miles.
