I have a 99 A6 w/the original battery. 1 st yr of ownership, 1 more under CPO. I also purchased the 2 yr tire/battery/glass warranty- again 1 yr left
The other day it was below zero- car would not start. I call Audi roadside, they come out to jumpstart- no go
Tow it to the dealer-
I suggest after 6 years the battery is dead & would like a new one under the warranty
The insist its fine, charged it up, charged me 50 for testing.
Am I unreasonable to think they should have replaced the battery under the warranty. The SA insists I left a light on (I did not).

that there's no chance the original will outlast the extended warranty and is - in the process - willing to provide good customer service and save PATRICK30 a breakdown. another potential solution from the devious side of my mind... i'll post above...

at some time in the near future that's convenient to YOU, accidentally leave a light on. see the same SA, and politely state that obviously the battery is due to be replaced. a 6 year old battery is obviously living on borrowed time, and the next "death" could be somewhere very inconvenient - or worse - dangerous. when the right way doesn't work... good luck.

they charged him $50 under cpo to add some water to the battery and test the system. Sears would have done the same thing for $100 and sent him on his way with a brand new battery
