Default Not a groovy thang. (Someone grooved my bumper!) Ideas?

You can see it (somewhat) in the photo. The rear bumper piece, where it tucks under the right rear fender/wing. (Not the cutline between fender and bumper; it looks like a shadow over the reflection of my hand, and continues right.)

Someone undercut when backing, or it's an errant shopping cart mark.

Dangus.

It looks like a 1/8th-inch-wide depression, no more than .002 or so deep, with hard edges. Paint's not cut or scratched, but it made an impression, literally, on the bumper substrate.

Anybody have success getting these out? Heat gun, gently applied?

Wait... it might spring / creep back. Seriously. Or try heating it - hair dryer.

Default If it were a scratch...

... this would be good. It's actually a depression... the paint never broke, but the underlying plastic is compressed. Polishing just the paint would probably leave a soft valley that would still be visible.

But thanks for the product tip just the same!

The plastic looks like it's been stretched. Try gentle heat gun and small roller

Default The plastic is quite flexible.. I bet you'll be able to heat it, and using wooden rollers and a bloc

you'll be able to smooth it out..

Default Great tips, Kris and Murph! Didn't have the wooden roller in the arsenal. Will try...

... or let a professional handle it!
