Occasionally I can hear a noisy turbo when the engine is cold. Is this anything to worry about?

Default Occasionally I can hear a noisy turbo when the engine is cold. Is this anything to worry about?
I try and stay out of boost but its hard to every time.

Default you really shouldnt be in boost when things are cold... at any time
but if its only when cold its probably not much to worry about... are you sure its not just spool-up?

Default Tht's an expensive habit. Zero vacuum is damaging until engine is warm.
Boost is worse.

Default Well when its warm you can't hear the turbos, unless you listen hard
This noise is quite a noticable wheeeeeeee, only when cold.

Default My rental over Thanksgiving for a trip to FL was a Supercharged Grand Prix...remote start on it
I thought that was a great idea for a turbocharged/supercharged car. Hit the start 5 minutes before you go down and let her warm up that way.

Default does this noise occur right before boost starts building or durring boost?
right before boost= spool up, this will be more prominent when the engine is cold

durring boost= could be anything from "normal" to ad turbos...

Default Could be the secondary air pump...Loud whining noise until the engine warms up.
Then a siren like sound, when it finally sh*ts the bed.
