OEM S-line Spoiler v. OEM BMW M5 Spoiler Question...

I have been reading about the people who have bought the M5 spoilers from BMW dealers for their A6s. My question is, what is the cost for an OEM A6 S-line spoiler (I assume the dealers sell them), and wouldn't that be the best fit for the A6 rather than a BMW spoiler? I would like to get a spoiler, but didn't know which would be better. Thanks, ECM

my advice would be to look at both, assume that both will fit well and make your choice then, i also belive the bmw spoiler is slightly cheaper

The Audi OEM is $400-$500 unpainted. The BMW was $115 plus $40 painted. Plus, the BMW is lower profile, which I prefered. The Audi spoiler is a little to large for my taste.

myself, I like the look of the M5. If anything else, what sealed the deal for me was the fact that while I was deciding, someone on this forum had posted something about their spoiler being ripped off, OEM RS6 spoiler installed with just tape. Then they said that next time, they would drill to bolt on.
I was leaning to the M5 anyway, but the fact that it is a bigger spoiler, proper installation for the long haul would involve drilling and bolting, which did not appeal to me.
Yes, it was cheaper, but I did not pick based on cost. If you go BMW M5, go OEM.

integrated and less tacked on than the M5 spoiler (which IMHO looks tacked on, even on the M5
. Granted it is a bit larger than the M5 spoiler, and not everyone's cup of tea. You need to lower the car to make any spoiler look correct IMHO. The whole point of a spoiler is to look sporty, and stock ride height ruins the effect.
Use special body shop glue that the pros use to install body kits. It cannot be removed with anything other than a sawzall after that ;-) Double sided tape often loosens after a few seasons - especially if your car sees extreme heat or cold. The glue gives you a nice gap free look. You've got to measure and align very carefully though, and mask off areas you don't want the glue to accidently spread to. The downside of drilling is that if you live in a high salt environment (coast or winter), you're inviting rust sooner or later.
