Default Oh noes! Flashing CEL under hard acceleration: multiple misfire.

I guess buying those new sparks and putting them on the workbench wasn't enough...and apparently 60k on a set of plugs is too much.

Default I did them at 175k with the last timing belt...did the VCG's then too.

I'll find out tonight. Wife is driving the A4 today, the A6 is in the garage, and am playing soccermom in the Suburban.

On a sidenote, I really don't know how people commute in these giant SUV's. Stop and go traffic is hair-raising. The go part is not problem, but the stop part can be damn scary. The brakes on the front of the suburban are smaller than the stock rears on my old urS. The rear brakes on the 'burban are drums. Fortunately <sarcasm> it only weighs 5500 lbs.

I'll try to keep this in mind next time I'm in traffic in the Miata. :-/

Default This is teh wife's ride...not that it matters. It happened when she went...

...into the throttle harder than usual for a slow car in a short passing zone. I cleared the codes when she got home and took the car for a spin. All was fine until I leaned in fairly hard to merge onto the highway. The light started to flash, I backed off, and the light stopped flashing and went to steady on.

Default I don't really know. Nothin' fancy.

I buy all my stuff over the phone. I provide year and model and they send me whatever they have listed. This is a good quality parts supplier that I have dealt with for almost 20 years. They know better than to even ask if I want cheaper Chinese stuff. If there is a choice, they automatically send the better quality stuff without asking. They've stopped trying to quote me prices too; I call, they ship. The stuff shows up next day if I order by 3 PM. Unfortunately they are wholesale only at this point (I am "grandfathered" in).

I think they are Bosch something or other.

I'm thinking of doing the coolant temp sensor too, just to cover my bases.

It is definitely worth building a relationship...just like with a mechanic.
