I live in Boston and I am going to change the oil for the first time on the A6 3.0. The car stays in the garage which stays about 50 degrees, but about 7 days a year we take it skiing and it leave it outside (10 degrees). So which oil # and manufacture should I get?
Thanks

I buy Mahle or Mann oil filters at www.autohausaz.com
www.bimmerparts.com kept sending me the Bosch filters when I ordered Mahle.
You usually don't want to change the oil too early.
I use Mobil 1 10-30 in a 97 2.8 12valve. Sounds like it's good enough for you too.
If you really saw a lot of cold weather or had turbos a wider viscosity spread or lower starting viscosity might be wanted.
Read your owners manual too, they have REALLY REALLY wide over lapping ranges usally that leave me more confused than anything.
Search this forum too, you will find more info and opinions about oil, oil filters and how often to change them than you probably care to read.
I won't help you again until Ted Kennedy isn't an elected official.
