Oil leak on the passenger side inner cv boot area...if I have the whole axle replaced will this

Default Oil leak on the passenger side inner cv boot area...if I have the whole axle replaced will this

solve the leak problem...anybody have this problem...?

no. There is no oil feed to the axle....only grease is in the CV joints/boots (inner and outer).

Identify the fluid! ATF, Hypoid gear oil, engine oil? Source? Output shaft oil seal?

Default ok, was wondering because the leak is coming from behind the innver cv boot area the pic is the part

directly behind the inner cv boot area where it is leaking...I'm not sure what that part is...front differential?

Default track the fluid if you can....remember that generally speaking, fluid will

flow from the front of the car toward the back, and from the top toward the bottom.

Feel, smell, taste the fluid. All different. Next wash the whole area oil free. Look again.

That greenish colour, looks like P/S fluid. How's the P/S fluid level?

Default Why are you replacing the axle?

Looks like gear oil for the front diff., probably the axle seal behind the flange.
