I had an oil change done at 7500 miles as part of the 1 year service requirement. I brought my own Mobil 1 (0-W30). After driving several hundred miles, the oil monitor showed there were only 6000 mile oil life left vs suppose to be at least 9500 miles. Now at 9500 miles on odometer which is only 2500 miles since the oil change, the oil monitor shows less than 1700 miles left (driven 8300 miles, as the oil monitor thought), the actual mileage is about 1/4 of the oil monitor mileage. The dealer doesn't know what happened. The car's oil monitor was fine for the first oil change performed by the same dealer at 4500 miles using dealer's regular oil.
Anyone have any idea?
