Oil Pressure Light??
Hi guys, long term reader but first post on this forum. I own a 1998 audi a6 2.4 petrol fwd.
Just recently I think iv noticed a problem, the car was bought second hand from a private seller. Can somebody tell me when am I supposed to see the oil light (or oil pressure light) coming on? as I havent seen it come on once during the few months iv owned it. Iv checked the oil level a few times and it does seem low sometimes and have topped it up. Is this a thing that can be disconnected to hide a bigger problem? any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: It should light up when you turn on the ignition but before you start the engine
yeah thats what i suspected. is this a thing that would maybe be disconnected if there was something dodgy with the car when the previous owner went to sell it? or do you think it is a sensor fault or blow bulb? im just not sure which is more probable.
