Oil in spark plug threads = leaking valve covers?

I would make sure the plug wells are spotless before u put the plugs in.

The valve cover its self might not be leaking but the inner gasket for the plug wells could be bad.

True dat. The string of round holes gasket is what keeps oil out of the spark plug holes and in the engine. The valve cover gasket itself keeps oil in the engine....
