The tip paddles part probably can be done similar to "4-spoke to 3-spoke" job described in tech. section; as for the multi-function controls, aren't the new whel has rotating wheels vs.buttons in old?.

similar to installing a '02-'04 multifunction steering wheel. Then, you'd need a steering wheel control unit that communicated via CANbus that will also talk to this steering wheel, and of course you'd need a Symphony II radio that would understand the CANbus commands from your new steering wheel. I bet that you can make it work but I'd have to see a wiring diagram for the A8 this came from to be sure. These steering wheels use the steering wheel control unit for radio and tiptronic commands so you can't just make the tip work without the radio part working. These are NOT the same as the steering wheels with tip buttons only. The tip buttons only wheels don't have a control unit, they simply send the tip signals directly to the TCU (as described in the tech article).
