Default Order to Delivery Time

A question to all the Audi owners, and hope to be soon Audi owners. How long of a time frame has it taken from order to delivery on an ordered car, not one selected at a dealership ?

12 weeks UNLESS the dealer can locate the exact car you want somewhere in the pipeline in Germany. Happened with me and I got my "ordered" vehicle in 3 weeks flat.

I ordered January 25th, my car arrived at the dealership on May 26th. For some reason, my completed car sat in Germany for about 5 weeks before finally hitting the water. Had it shipped promptly, the wait would have only been 3 months.

The previous two responses are consistent with what my dealer told me for the 2.7T I have on order. They said three months. Recent checks on build status suggest it could arrive a bit sooner. Earlier posts have described having to wait 4, 5 or even 6 months. This appears to be a problem of given dealers not ordering the car at the same time the customer did.

Depends on just when the dealer orders it; avg. 3 to 4 mos., but very few cars built in Aug.

Default Dealer can only order once a month. They have a window of a few

weeks where they can try to change a car that was already ordered. Depends if you are on the East or West coast as well. Expect 3 months at the shortest ( unless car is available in the pipeline somewhere ) all the way up to 5 months. Cars can get held up at either port (QC waiting for parts, etc), shipping company capacity, US emissions lab testing.

Also keep in mind that each dealer is allocated a certain number of each model each month. If the dealer has more orders for a particular car (2.7t?) than allocated slots, they must wait for the next month ordering window.

Default Two weeks: Dealer located car at another dealer and did a trade. (more)

A little flexibility on options helps a lot. Only thing I had to take that I didn't originally want was the cold weather package. (Now I couldn't live without it!)

(sorry) Car was a 2.8, which makes a big difference. Waits for 2.7T and 4.2 are longer.
