Ordered sport tires on my 03. It came with Michelin Pilot Primacy, which I believe are all season.

Should I keep these as my winter tires or bang the dealer for a set of sports? What's the going consensus on the tire itself? Did a search, which seemed fairly positive.

The sticker should tell you what type of tires came with the car. The order code for the all seasons is PRJ...if the car wasn't ordered with this option then you have the standard summer performance tires. My '03 2.7T, with the PRJ option, came with Pirelli P6 all seasons on it. If your tires are, in fact, the summer ones then I don't think it's a good idea to run them on snow or ice. The all seasons are okay, but winter tires are best even with Quattro.

I very rarely deal with snow or ice, just rain. That is why I told the salesman specifically to order the sport or summer tires. With that said, if these are GREAT rain and dry tires I might keep them for winter and buy some new rims mount so Toyo's and call it a day.

...and as long as you don't need them for snow they'll be okay. It's my understanding that the "performance" tire Audi supplies is a compromise tire...not quite an all season and not quite an aggressive sport tire. Run them for a while and see how they do before spending more money.

The Pilot Sport A/S is popular with allroader's...<ul><li><a href="http://www.michelinman.com/mastapp/servlet/Controller/site.catalog.Results?vehicletype=templatedata%2Fca talog%2Fvehicle_type%2Fdata%2Fsportscar&wheels ize=any&specificuse=any&vehicletypename=sp orts+car&wheelsizename=an

straight performance. They paid a premium for it too. Guess, I can't fault them there. I personally would have opted for the sportier version. Think I'll hold on to these and grab a set of really sticky ones if and when I need them. Thanks again.
