I'm thinking about ordering a 2.7T with the option list limited to performance items (sport package, xenons) and the Convenience Package (seems like sunroof is mandatory in SoCal).
I've had cars with full leather and as much as I enjoy the look and feel of leather, I don't care for the comfort and longevity of leather seats. If you look at a 3-4 year old car with leather seats, most have badly worn out leather on the driver's seat.
Since I am pretty much set on Tungsten gray for interior color, the only other option besides leather is cloth. I've seen the cloth Tungsten gray on a '99 A6 2.8 Avant and it looked stylish and durable. However, I am concerned that I may have trouble selling the car down the line if I don't ante up for leather. I plan to keep the car for at least 4 years. Should I go with the perfectly acceptable cloth seats and not worry about resale?
Your input is appreciated.

I assume these are the same jacquard satin fabric as in my 98 a4....These seats are fantastic - At 46,000 miles the seats look almost new! You won't slide around on the fabric and they won't feel cold in the winter. Re-sale will be more of an issue than my a4 where I'm not finding any issues, but you may want to keep the rest of the car basic so the used car would be lower end of the scale and you should be OK- or perhaps just lease the car....

I have the tungsten gray cloth on my 2.7T for the same reason as you.
It look and feel wonderful. It may not smell as nice as leather, in fact it
doesn't smell at all, but sure more comfortable at both temperature
extremes. The penalty at resale is less than the premium on leather.
Order the car for yourself rather than for the next owner.
