With the orgy of BMW-bashing lately, let me predict that the M5 will still beat the RS6....
Although the new RS6 has 50 more HP than the M5, I bet it's not faster when it finally makes our shores because of extra weight and lack of a 6-speed.
That's why the 4.2 tip is slower than the 540 auto, even though it has a little more HP, and why the S6 tip has about the same performance as a 540 6-speed, even though it has 58 more HP.
Since the RS6 is turbo-charged, the tuners will no doubt make an M5 killer, but in stock form, I bet in comes in a close second.
Don't dance on BMW's grave just yet and don't tell me about Kompressor E55's. Dinan supercharges M5's already.

BMW people have always been aesthetically inclined. Now they are being asked to look beyond
the fat ugly girl exterior to find the inner goodness. Sorry, I think many may be too shallow to make the leap. The loyalists may stay, but people attracted to the brand only for it's appearance, will now look elsewhere.
Look at how many people have passed up the A6 just because they didn't like the rear. It had nothing to do with the way the car drove. Now imagine the front looking just as controversial if not more so - you have your BMW.
