Outer CV Joint ABS ring issue?
In the middle of changing the outer CV Joint on my 2000 A6 2.7T (p/n 4D0-498-099); the old joint is the original. In comparing the ABS rings on old and new, the new part has a ring about 1/4” smaller in diameter (essentially the sensing surface will be 1/8” further away from the ABS sensor than the original. Am I correct in thinking that the ABS sensor will not be able to pick-up the ring that far away? (New joint is manufactured by EMPI purchased from Bimmerspecialist)

I would guess that's correct. Sounds like a wrong part.
