I have water accumulating in both footwells. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT COOLING SYSTEM WATER.
I had removed some debris that partially clogged the short plenum drain hose below the battery tray last Tuesday as I installed a new battery (Interstate "MTP-H7", BTW). This was preventative maintenance work, so I finished that battery install with a great feeling of having "nipped a potential water problem in the bud".
But after the wet snow we experienced in the midwest this last weekend, I was very surprised to find splashy puddles of water to the "outer sides" of both new rubber floor mats in the footwells. It's a lot of water, not just that which is carried into the car on our boots. As mentioned, the rubber floor mats are new...no holes.
Anyway, the question is...are there plenum drain hoses other than the one in the middle?
(!) Could it be sunroof drain hoses? Wow...I just thought of this now. I'll check it out tonight and report back (!)
FYI...I had a 1986 SAAB which had this same problem. It wasn't a drain hose that was clogged. It was a hole in the weld between the lower part of the A pillar and the outer edge of the firewall. As water would run down the window and flow along that outer edge of the firewall, some (a lot) would leak into the footwell. I had to remove the entire dash to find the leak. A small dab of silicone rubber fixed the problem forever.

...but I am not sure if that would result in water coming into both the driver AND passenger side footwells.
