I was thinking of replacing both of my pre-cat o2 sensors for by 2.8, since I've never had them replaced and have over 140K miles on it...also I've got the P1131 error. Anyone have any recommendations on which ones to get and from where? I was thinking of the universal ones, but would like to know a good place and good $$ to get them at.

Go with the right ones or don't bother. Personally, I don't bother unless I'm seeing codes. Our A6 and A4 both have plenty more miles than your car. Just be patient, it's an Audi, and stuff will break that needs to be fixed. No need to go looking for trouble. ;-)

I just did mine on a 2.7. I bought the cheapest ($23) 4 wire generic universal I could find and installed it. After 2 days I was re-installing a new Bosch ($140) O2 sensor. I guess if I had all kinds of time and needed to save about $200 (aren't you doing 2?), I would do the universal sensor. If time is an issue, go for the Bosch.

They are the same EXACT sensors (If you get the BOSH universal ones), except oem come with the audi-specific harness. Definitely not worth extra 100 dollars a piece.
That's like saying you should get all your work at the dealer to "do it right". Dumb...

Halik,
The way I read 4Driver4s comments, he's talking about "non-Bosch" sensors. Don't you think it's a little strong to call him out that hard for making that statement?
We all drive AUDIs, and read this board, so we must not be that "dumb"!

Lots of people spread FUD around this forum with regards to the o2 sensors, telling people to buy them from ECS for exorbitant amount of money.
Any brand name 4 wire sensor will do the job - mine ran me $23 shipped a piece with splicing connectors and they're identical to OEM. Plus no codes
