Parking curb incident unsnapped the bumper cover. Snapping it back on isn't so obvious....

Default no useful comment to give here, but i know to be more careful now...

i tend not to park over any parking blocks or over any low curbs, just to be safe...
i guess my days in my lowered car days have stayed with me... the parking discipline, i meant.

hope you figure out how to get the bumper back to normal.

Default Yeah, I was careful but gradually reduced my "margin of error" until I crossed it. :^(

Looks pretty good now, even though the fasteners aren't catching.

Default I have the same problem....

When I bought the car I noticed that the same spot on my car has a slight gap between the bumper cover and the fender. I brought the car in for the bumper recall and after reinforcing the bumper cover they told me that the damage I had sustained wasn't consistent with what the recall fixed. The little tabs won't stick back in and one of screws (middle one) on the front of the wheel well won't thread into anything anymore. And I have the 2.7T so basically the moral of the story is that the recall doesn't have anything to do with fixing this problem.
If you find out a way to fix it PLEASE let me know. The gap used to drive me crazy but now I am used to it.

Default Sheet metal gets pulled, too...

when the bumper catches it also pulls the sheet metal together, so could change the amt of bend/resistance and affect alignment.

Mine's still not 100% after the recall....

Default To help prevent this in the future.....

I keep a couple of short 2x6 boards in the trunk. If I make the mistake of going onto a curb edge I place them behind the front wheels and backup onto them slowly. Hopefully raising the car enough to minimize the damage. It worked on my wife's A8 the first week she owned it. They also will give your jack some more stability if you need it.
