I just found out today. If it has the black trim around it, it is the Dazzle type mirror. Hope this helps

It did pop out fairly simply. I can send you a video of the removal process, if you'd like...

remember you can not fit 00+ mirror into 1999 A6, different shape of mirror
so you have to look for 1998-1999 mirror
