Default It has been that way for years...

This has been a very noticeable and frustrating problem. Back in the early 90's I noticed this while travelling from NYC to Boston for college. At the time I used (and still do on occasion) my cheapo Uniden. Every time I crossed into CT on 95 the POS would have a 45 min seizure until I was well north on 84.
I just shut it down now. There is so much damn traffic and never-ending construction on that interstate that it is nearly impossible to reach moderately illegal speeds for any length of time.
Anyway, the Meritt is much more exhilerating and challenging.

Peace,

Chris

Default 95 in CT has some sort of traffic measuring/monitioring system..

consisting of cameras and radar guns mounted on post along it's entire length.

You can go on the internet and select any of the cameras to view the traffic before getting on the road.

The Merritt Parkway has none, no trucks and is a little more twisty.

I too had the same issue on 95N from NY border up to New Haven. I am curious about something though...Are the cameras emitting the 10.528GHz - 10.531GHz Frequency or is there an actual RADAR unit on top of every poll that has the camera (I have the passport on SpecDisplay to get the exact signal...)?

One thing about the CT Staties I saw on 95...Stateies unitilze X and Ka Bands for traffic enforcement. So, one has to really keep the eyes "peeled" or just drive with the "flow."

I think there are seperate transmitters. They look like 18" long gray tubes.

Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...Yes, I have seen those. Very interesting set up! Must be using MPH Industries atenneas/counting units for this kind of "measurement..."
