..hey all, for the past month I've been noticing a coolant odor around the front end of my car. I also noticed that the coolant reservoir was/is a little low. I poked around under the hood and didn't see any obvious signs of FLUID leaks (white/pink deposits and water tracks), but I defintely smell it when it's hot.
Awhile back I fixed a leaky T-fitting by using some sealant and a 'real' hose clamp, which solved the problem. I would assume it's still holding; if there was a leak there, I'd see signs of fluid...it's dry as a bone.
Any BTDT with this kinda thing? Some one suggested the coolant reservoir might have a small crack, but alas..no signs of leakage!(?). Thanks, as always, in advance.

but luckily, covered under warranty for me! They had the car for two full days.
No signs of a leak other than the low coolant warning light and a low coolant reservoir!

.... rocket science either.
The coolant would run down the back of the engine, and around the transmission.

Sounds very much like my experience, which turned out to be the aux coolant pump, located under the intake manifold. I'd suggest crawling over the engine to have a look at the back of it near the firewall. If the aux pump (or a clamp) is leaking, you should be able to see it from this position. I've done a fairly extensive write-up complete with pictures of this operation. I recently had word from the AW tech folks that they liked it, but it doesn't seem to have been posted as yet. If you're interested in doing it yourself, give me your email and I'll send you a copy.
