I won't be able to really drive it until Sunday, buy here are some 1st impressions:
1. of course it is a beautiful car on the outside (light silver/platinum interior)
2. the sport suspension is in no way too stiff. i'm glad i chose it.
3. the seats offer alot of support and are sleekly styled. nice.
4. the rear seating also offers alot of support with the bucket like design. poor soul who gets stuck sitting in the middle though.
5. the 5 spoke rims are incredibly beautiful on this car and help give it an edgy meaner look along with the fenders.
6. i love the red glow of the interior and the two LED lights shining on the console.
7. at first i thought the heated rear seats were not working until i read in the manual that they only heat up when they sense someone sitting on the seat! intelligent!
8. the sound system is marvelous, although i have to give a slight edge to the volvo premium system as the audi bose sounds a bit tinny (especially listening to Andrea Bocelli).
9. huge trunk.
10. super quiet cabin interior while driving. the improvements made in this area must have worked b/c it was much quieter than the volvo.
11. the V8 is smoooooooth! very good pick up and passes like a rocket. i noticed that to really rev it up you have to press the pedal past an intial stop point and then the car flies!
Well, i still have to learn the navigation system and set all the gizmos and memory seats and automatic steering wheel, etc. i guess i'll be reading the manual for the next two days. this Saturday I will go on a little road trip and really put her to he test!!! I'll write up a more detailed review then.
I hope this post was not too long and that
i didn't bore you all to death.
oh, one question: why is it that only the passenger side mirror automatically goes down when reversing and not the driver's side as well?? hope it's not a dumb question.

2. I agree and think you might have been disappointed with the standard suspension - it certainly seems to be generally agreed upon here that the sport setup is the way to go.
3. I ordered my car and thought I'd receive the "vertical" panel inserts on the seats but got the "horizontal" panels instead (the sport package only comes with horizontal inserts) - I like them much more.
4. Agreed! I wouldn't mind that center hump so much if that occasional person at least had a 3-point belt to use.
5. Chunky wheels seem to work well with those chunky fender flares and chunky rocker panel "flares"
8. For sure, go to the tech section here and look for Stoney's tuning tips (though I don't know if they work with the '02's - for that matter I don't know what year you got!)
9. Many bodies.....
10. Fan noise seems too loud to me, but when it's low it's pretty quiet.
11. Ain't no substitute for cubic-inches...watch the break-in period. April has stated many times that the drive-by-wire throttle learns constantly and responds not only to overall input, but acceleration of input on the pedal as well.
Mirror Q: because they assumed that you'd be parking with the curb on your right side.

If both of your rear-view mirrors tilted down, you wouldn't be able to see anything as you backed up. The passenger side tilts so that you can see the curb and avoid scuffing those beautiful new wheels.
BTW, both my 540 and MDX have the same tilt feature- only on the passenger side, so it must be a universal setup.
Congrat's on your 4.2.
