Default Neither. Both are a safety hazard IMO....

My auto-dimming mirrors always activate at the wrong times (eg: at dusk and durring rain storms) making it difficult to see drivers who've forgotten to turn on their lights. Tinting whould cause this problem 24/7.

Koz.

Default I've had auto-dimming mirrors for a few years...

...and I've never felt that they dimmed at the wrong times. It would only activate if it were dark enough out AND if there was a bright light source coming from behind.

Default are you sitting down???

retail for this is over $300 for the driver's side only. That is for the OEM autodimmming and heated euro-blindspot mirror.

Part number is: 8D0857535H, but at times, you can catch a set on eBay Germany for about half price. I have a "spare" driver side in my basement, but since these are really hard to find, I will not sell it.

Default Safety Hazzard my eye, turn your head before you change lanes. If you can't turn your head you

shouldn't be driving.

I have an aunt who is rather large and only uses her mirrors to drive and back up. Scares the hell out of me and the entire family and makes me wish we had rules for maintaining a drivers licence here in the States.
