Ehh.... I like it.
It's nice to have more variety, and geesh, the possibility of (i think they said) 450hp ... from a stock 4 door.... how can this not be a good thing?
So what if if is a traditional manufacturer of 2 door sports cars making a 4 door car... they already made a SUV... this feels like they are just filling the gaps in their lineup.
Personally, I don't really care about the symbol on the hood, so much as it is an awesome car, and another high-HP four door is great, more options later on when I look for another awesome sedan to supplament the A6.
I just hope the weight is comparable to other sporty four doors.

Not Touareg-based platform, a new rwd platform (for VW too)...
Not trying to be Mr. Knowitall, but mention of a rwd VW platform caught my eye...
<i>"Porsche chairman Wendelin Wiedeking has forged links with Volkswagen on a new rear-wheel-drive platform program in a move similar to that undertaken with the Cayenne and Touareg."</i>

Well, the question still remains, since Porsche has done such a fantastic job of hiding
where and how the Cayenne is really made, it would make sense to use some of VW's excess capacity to do this again.
