My power lumbar on drivers seat has never sounded to healthy during the time that I owned the car, but it has worked
now I just hear the motor going, but nothing is moving...and it's very uncomfortable
I searched around and found info for the A4, which I tried on my A6 and it certainly does not appear to be put together the same.
Does anyone know how I can open up the seat, hopefully from the back, to get in their and repair or replace the lumbar unit?
thanks

My eBahn has a procedure for the lumbar.
remove seat (not sure that's needed)
pry cover fastening strip out of backrest trim
unclip backrest trim with clips
pull backrest trim downward and out

I'm confused on what "pry cover fastening strip out of backrest trim" is exactly.
I took a long, narrow flat head screwdriver and tried working my way across the top, thinking that's where the clips are
I ended hearing a horrible snap and can now see a small hole I punctured
It really seems like it's a solid piece, but I guess that's not possible
The only real movment I could seem to get was by lift up from the bottom where the courtesy floor lamp is and then out slightly, I felt something unclip and it was more loose than the passenger side was at the bottom after
But still, it was as if it was a single piece, not like how the picture shows just the back piece coming off

I just got these with my Pre, it's alittle rainy and dark ouy and I had to scale them down to no more than 800x600, so not the best
But should be good enough
In the pics, it sure looks like it comes apart!
But as I pull between the plasticy backrest and the side leater, it's like it's just one piece

Looking at that a4 write-up, you pry the top of the cover out of the backrest. Looks like a lot of bending is in order.
