Power Steering Fluid: What to get?
I have the 2002 S6 from Germany. The manual is in German. I usually consult the manual for things like this. So, I have been getting the orange lights for ABS and ESP on my dash come on randomly and always together when i drive. This morning I hear the usual whining when the steering fluid is low. So, now i know i have a steering fluid problem. Where I am, I don't have access to an audi "stealership" so, i need help with recommendations of what steering fluid to get. I have heard people say audi is particular about using only approved steering fluids or the world might come to an end. Any suggestions on what to get and what to stay away from? Also, anyone have ideas on what could be happening to my car or what to start troubleshooting for?

And second get the fluid from Volkswagen dealership if they are closer.
Or buy it online. But I'm not sure which website will/will not ship to Germany. But I think the power steering fluid is mineral oil.

Possible you don't have ALL the brake lights. Problem of Brake Pedal Light Switch ... cost $20.00
ABS + ESP lights ON together and reset after you restart the car before you put in gear. These lights will come on again once you put in gear and start moving.
Also you will feel the car is sluggish in pickup the speed.

Pentosin CHF 11S power steering fluid is what you can use other than dealer PS fluid. It should be the same power steering fluid.

ABS and ESP light lit up on dash is classic symptom of ABS controller malfunction.
The ABS controller can be removed and fixed/repaired for anywhere form $40 to a couple hundred $ plus shipping. YMMV.

Pentosin has a new fluid that's a bit less expensive compared to the 11S and is a safe alternative.
