What kind of deals are you getting? I cannot get a salesman to talk to me about anything other than just $1000 below MRSP. Any suggestions on dealing with the dealers would be greatly appreciated.

How many dealers have you visited? I would think you should be able to get at least 5% off MSRP. Try to visit 3 Audi dealers (if you have that many where you live). Good luck!

pop over to Edmunds, plug in your options and you'll be ble to validate MSRP and the invoice. No hold backs on Audi. I got 3 prices after heavy negotiating on the 4.2 I just ordered and I paid exactly halfway between invoice and MSRP. On a 3.0, I'd think that was more than $!000!! Some do a little better, some worse, but halfway is pretty common.
$1000 off sticker sounds more like an S6 price than a 3.0. Good luck.

somewhere around $1500-$2000 off sticker at this time of year. In another 2-3 months, I'd expect ~$2500 off sticker, if inventory is high...otherwise if low stock...why should they discount?
Make an offer at $1500 over invoice...see how close they'll come...and then decide.
As a not so easy comparison...I paid $2300 over invoice (or $3k off sticker) in December (actually the deal was made in November) 14 months ago on an '01 4.2.
And I paid $750 under MSRP (or ~$5500 over invoice) on the S6 a couple weeks ago.
Typical numbers last year on the 2.8, people here were reporting ~$1000-$1300 over invoice...I guess right now, stock is a little tighter.
Good luck

Edmunds bases their pricing on current actual sales averages for model and equipment.
In the NorCal area I see about $500 off of MSRP for the CVT. The CVT is a high demand item BTW.

deals get better the further into the model year you go. It seems like they were dealing better a year ago, and with the economy the way it is, that is suprising. However, everyone must consider that the change from the 2.8 to the 3.0 engine may make the base more desireable and the dealers less willing to discount too steeply since this is new.
