It concerns 98 Audi A6, regular CD deck, factory installed (Bose).
Yesterday I was listening to the radio and wanted to switch to cd (in the trunk 6 disc changer) pushed "Mode" button-no respond.
After parking the car I opened the trunk and wanted to eject cd cartidge. Pushed "eject" button-no respond.

Does anyone know where should I start looking for the roots of this problem and how to fix it?

Did you check the cable connection? Perhaps it's loose or corroded.

Maybe it's toast...Let me know, I might be able to help.

Probably dead, replace it with a Phatbox for $150. Thats what I did, best bang for the buck IMO.
