Default regarding recall

I took my '01 in for routine maintainence (if $3100 is routine, which it seems to be for audis, but I digress) and they replaced my 235/45/17s with 225/45/17's bridgestones. My SA advisor stated the recall was based on a law suit regarding a blow out, roll over and weight bearing issues, I don't know what the original tires were. The recall only involved '01's with sport suspension. The orginal '01 sport suspension's were 16's, but they had an upgrade to BBS 17's which I have. Sooo, According to the tire forum and the recall, 225's should be the optimal tire size. (at least with sports suspension and I don't know how the different suspension would change that). I will probably upgrade to the 235's next tire because I think it looks better. In summary, you should be just fine.

high rates of outer edge wear can be associated with bad tie rod ends
