Default purchasing control arms...sources?

Hi folks,

So during my 'fun' weekend installing new shocks in the 00 C5 2.8 ATQ, I realized that my upper front control arms on both sides could use replacement (fore and aft upper

I was hoping one of you might have a good source to procure the parts from for a modest fee vs. my local dealer who wants $660 for them!

I know that Blauparts sells both sides for $200 and I also saw that fcpgroton has them for $70...but I do wants these to last...just not spend $660 for them!

Default thnx 4driver4....

Weird thing is that they don't seem to have a phone number, just a web site: http://axismotorsport.com/

I did email Joe to ask him about the parts I need.

Just out of curiosity I can't believe how cheap the FCP Groton parts are...what's up with that??!! anyone have experience with them?

If the ball joints are good (and they're probably not unless you've decided to replace based on cracks in the bushings) you can press in new bushings. OEM are maybe $30, ECS or others have them for $15.

The only reason to replace the UCA is if the bj is bad or the uca itself is damaged.

The Ball joints themselves are bad...so I'll need to order all 4.

I got the cheap FCP Groton complete kit but with up rated steering rod ends and have had them in for over a year with no issues so far. They still look new and comparing them side by side with new Meyle parts, they appeared almost identical. They are Chinese rather than German manufactured. Time will tell how good they are.

Report after report says nothing lasts anywhere near as well as OEM, and doing kits simply replaces reliable parts with suspect ones. This applies to meyle, bilstein etc. Those are NOT OEM, repeat NOT OEM. TRW is. Lemforderer is.
