When braking almost to stop, red lights, stop signs...
The first gear enters kind of rude, the chenges between 4th ,3th and second are very smooth you can not almost feel it.
But the first one.. i feel a litle push in the car like its causing some work for the transmission to put it in.
Thank you in advance , you guys are great!!!

My A6 4.2 does the same thing. It happens most often when I brake hard from speeding. I sometimes, just put the car in neutral during those hard down shifts to zero. That clunk is nerve racking.

I would recommend changing the fluid/filter on a regular basis (no less than 40K miles/2 years) anyway.
1.5 years ago nobody changed their fluid/filter!

I was just afraid that i was going to lose the transmission, i have been reading lots of postings that have the same problem as me,
it seem to be usual in a6s.
My car has 44k miles, started doing it at 43k
it seems time to change the transmission oil.
Thank you for being there, your knowledege is saving us lots of time/money
