I will be undertaking the aux coolant pump replacement and have seen mention of doing this without removing the intake manifold. Can anyone speak to this procedure? Or, should I just do it the normal way? 2000 A6 2.7 auto.
Thanks

I've never replaced one, but I have had the manifold off and been in that area. If it were me, I'd just remove the manifold. It'll take you 30 minutes to remove that manifold and another 30 to put it back on (at most) and you will save yourself 50 minutes of swearing and squeezing your hands were they don't fit. Maybe it's easier than it looks, but I don't see how it'll save that much time in the end to not remove it.
