at a stop light - 4 black pipes out the rear look impressive. No way that I would be able to tame that car with the sun shining....but with a base list price of $118k for the Merc, I pocket $45k+ and relish that he is TOAST in rain/snow!

The guy had it at Road America, what a beautiful car. I can only imagine what his trap speed was at the end of RA's long straights. I rode in an older E55 at RA that was able to go 160 on the straights. He had to virtually come to a stop though to make it around a corner.

and TIP chips, H-Sport bars, Eibach springs and Bilstein Sport shocks, while no stoplight racer, is much more stable in the wet and very amusing to drive in all conditions. An RS6 needs significantly more torque and hp to drag race. Autoweek mag had an article a couple of months ago about a moded RS6 that seemed like it could run with the supercharged 55's. The best part was that the first stage ecu was not ridiculously expensive.

should know that a straight line drag race is no way to evenly compare two street cars.
A passenger's weight is a huge disadvantage.
Look at what 100lbs of ballast does in the racing world.
Once the corners show up, the E55 is in a world of hurt.
