Default Radar Detector Question....

How is everyone keeping the suctions cups attached to windshield? NO matter what, every few weeks they loose their grip and fall, its getting old, any suggestions? I have two sets of new ones coming from Escort.

Default I don't use them.....

I use velcro; one strip on the top of the Rearview mirror, one strip on the bottom of the Radar unit. Fits like a glove.

Default Changes in temp, especially very hot temps, will do that. Mine rest on my rear view mirror though

and that really helps.

Default No issues here with my Escort Passport, but in winter....

once in a while, whenit gets REALLY cold, they might lose their suction and the detector may fall, so I typically take it off after I drive so it is not hanging there, ro worse, fall and hit/damage something.

Default

I've replaced them w/bigger ones from a craft store. But, I think they all have a life-span.

Default I use the mirror as a crutch

While rear view mirror is out of the way, I use a little saliva on the suction cups, and put the Valentine 1 in place. Re-adjust mirror such that it provides some help holding the Valentine 1 from the bottom.
I used a small strip of black felt type tape such that the plastics don't rub together and make noise. Good since I put it in place.

Default Windex the area of the windshield and then Windex the suction cups.

If they don't stick forever after that, they're probably worn and should be replaced.
