Radio replacement issue....

I told my dealer I had the radio gremlin in my Bose unit. I just wanted it noted and I told them I'd live with it for now, assuming that I'd eventually get a trouble-free unit once Audi gets the whole gremlin thing completely sorted out. Much to my surprise they replaced it. The new one doesn't display "Bose" when it's turned on and it doesn't sound nearly as good as the old one. It's not as crisp and clear. Way too much bass, too. No gremlins, though. I asked them to confirm it was the right unit and they said the part #'s matched. Should a replacement Bose unit display "Bose" when it's turned on? Anybody else get a replacement which didn't sound as good? I'm going to try to get my old one back or get another new one.

The head unit is the same in both Bose and non-Bose systems. The dealer (or someone with VAG-COM) must program it for the Bose setup. Then it will say "Bose" when you turn it on, and the equalization will be different.
