I dropped my wife off at the airport this morning in her car. All the way to the airport, the radio was on. At the drop-off point, I turn the radio off, then turn the car off. We unload her bags and I get back in - car on, radio on. Every 30 seconds, the radio would turn itself off, then immediately back on. It did this on both FM mode, the AM mode and the CD mode.
Another interesting thing was that it didn't matter if the radio was ON for 30 seconds. If I played it for 15 seconds, turned it off for 5 seconds, then back on, 10 seconds later it turns itself off then back on.
On my way to work I stopped for gas. I decided to leave the radio on when I turned the car off this time. I get back in, start it up, and the radio was fine all the way to work.
I'm not sure if leaving the radio on when shutting the car off actually had anything to do with it - may have just been a coincidence - but, there it is.
Has anyone experienced this type of oddity? The car still has 3k miles of factory warranty left, but I vaguely recall hearing the radio is no longer covered. Is that right?

I bet if you take it into the detailer they will atleast figure out what specifically is wrong. Your head unit could be failing, but it seems like a power issue.

but nevr actually turn off/on. I'll be driving and notice the lights/display will turn completely off then back on... Same thing in my A4. Also, same as the a4, the radio station is one notch down in the am from the station I left it on the night before lol
