Default changed mine with Mobil1 very easy for rear and center but still can't change the front =[

The fluid looked dark green and smelled very acidic. Plesae let me know if you can get a bit in the front to change the front one. I couldn't find any space to get the hex bit in there, too tight. Used less than 3 bottles for both.

Default change front diff oil @ 116k=bad news

I recently changed my front differential with a little less than 1 liter of audi/vw oem fully synthetic oil, it looked muddy and smelled burnt and was a pain to remove the fill whole hex, and in the end, when I tested the car, a humming/rumbling sound came from the diff.
My theory is that the oil was in such bad shape that metal started to wear away and suspend in the fluid, and in changing out the old oil with the new the detergents washed away the "floating particles" that kept the diff running smoothly, or should I say more smoothly than what I have now.
It is like a slow rumble, I can only hear it with the music turned down. I guess I'll just turn up the radio to fix it from here.

Most of you have A6's with half, or even a quarter of the miles mine has. My advice to all is change all of the fluids early on, from the differentials which many overlook, to the transmission.

Better late than never does not fly with audis.
