Rear Parking Assist. is not working .. no beep once engaged or while backing up. Ideas?

Run a VAG COM scan...it stores error codes for most systems INCLUDING the parktronic system...
...most likely a bad sensor (and the VAG COM scan will tell you which one), which could be replaced for about $75.

Just posted on this a couple days ago...
...found that my system is actually working, but the alert is veeeery faint.
Put in R with ignition on, engine off in a quiet area and listen closely.
As BD stated then, replacing the speaker is a real PITA. But, if you're CPO, it's covered by the warranty. Let the dealer fix it.
