With a new baby less than 5weeks away, I've noticed that I have an Airbag emblem on my rear seat (each side). Thus, I'm assuming it's a rear side-airbag and I'm wondering if it's a dealer only defeat or is there a key-defeat hidden somewhere?

And before any of you wiseguys say read the manual, I don't have one so if you say it...make sure you're not within arms reach haha POW!

you will probably upgrade to forward facing seat on the side, those will block any impact the airbag has at the child.

The only danger for a chils is if they are sleeping in the back and the airbag deploys with their hear against the seat....in a car seat that cant happen

actually, with the LATCH system that I had installed on my '02 model, the infant seat is on the right rear position. However, you bring up a good point in that the airbag may not be able to contact the baby or the infant seat.
