Default Rear wheels turn on Quattro when jacked up... why?

While changing the flat rear tire on my loaner 04 or 04 A6 quattro I noticed that the wheel would spin when jacked up, in park. This is not true on my 01 Avant quattro. Any ideas? Has something changed in the rear drive train?

Should only spin if you have a front and rear tire jacked up.

Default The car has an open front & rear differential, just like your old Chevy.

One wheel will turn if the other is held still unless ADL is activated to stop the spinning wheel.
