Rebuilt Transmission Installed, A6 4.2 Won't Start.....

OK, having my second rebuilt transmission installed by Aamco, Cherry Hill, NJ, because I love this C5 as an occasional driver. Any AWF members have any thoughts why the car won't start? Aamco explained to me that the car just turns over, they pulled plugs, checked compression and all is good. Master mechanic informed me they have contacted AOA Tech Support and are awaiting support pages to be faxed to them. Mechanic also feels that there is "resistance" in crankshaft when they tried to align torque converter, thus they believe that the timing is now off? Any thoughts and comments are appreciated. Thank You! P.S. car has been sitting for 5 weeks at Aamco so maybe hydraulic timing adjuster settled?

Not clue what the techs did when they installed the transmission, but I would assume something happened to the G28 crank sensor IMO. Obviously, if it came in running, then they screwed up something during the repairs. Keep in mind though, some parts do fail apart when touched or removed, but they should have noticed it when performing the repairs.

Yes, car was in fine engine operating condition other than Trans limp mode. Thank you.....

If the crank speed sensor is bad, it does not have to give off a DTC, since the ECM does not see the engine is trying to crank. You have to check the ECM measurement value block 1 when cranking. If no RPMs show up, the crank position sensor is dead. It can be connected, but no signal is generated.

someone siphoned gas out of the car?
That's the trouble with AAMCO....5 weeks to get a transmission exchanged is ridiculous.
