Recoded ABS module for manual trans, now get "incorrectly coded" fault.
I figured out how to recode my ABS module, but now that it's accepted the new coding, I've got a "control module incorrectly coded" fault, 3 beeps at startup, and a flashing red "BRAKE" light at all times on the dash. Does it take a while for the module to accept this change, or is there something else amiss? I was under the impression both manual and automatic cars were equipped with this ABS module (8D0 907 389 E).

That is correct. Logged in with 07495 and coded to 06395. It accepted the coding, then gave the trouble codes "missing message from TCU" and "control module incorrectly coded."

most likely your original abs module doesn't have software to handle new task,
you would have to compare part# of the actual abs module electronic unit to car with auto and manual tranny and see if they are different, most likely will be.
there is a barcode underneath the abs module.
this is the same issue I had a while ago, where I got abs module turned out to be for manual vehicle, and even I change the code it accepted but would not work and error code came up communication not recognized

That is good info. ABS part number is 8D0 907 389 E, and below is Autoverwertung.de's parts interchange list for that part number.

Anyway, seems safe to say the abs module ought to be equipped with whatever I need to make it work. I did notice that the ECU's soft coding is 07752, and per a brief description on ross-tech's wiki, it should be 07712. I'd like to try coding it later, but I imagine there's some crazy login to code the ecu.
